  • MMPROJ1 or Multimedia Arts Design and Production is the second course in the series designed to enable the student to produce a culminating Multimedia project. It guides the student in executing his/her proposed topic into a viable Multimedia project. The course includes the production of the projects content, the production of a substantial portion of the project depending on the format, and the preparation of the design document under the guidance of the student’s preferred adviser. This course covers the actual production of the project elements, which is guided and monitored to ensure the feasibility of project completion and the viability of the product itself.

    VIDPRD2, 2D ANIM2, 3DANIM2, WEBDEV2, CADVIS2, DESKPUB, AUTHOR1, SONDESN and CNCTPHO are the pre-requisite to MMPROJ1 while MMPROJ1 is the pre-requisite to MMPROJ2, PORTFOL, Exhibit.

Before the end of the term, the student must be able to complete all the submission requirements.

    1. Approved Content
    2. Design Document
    3. Internal Defense
    4. All Production Requirements of the Project

Failure to follow these policies and guidelines will result to failure of the course.

    1. Any change of topic must be endorsed by the student’s adviser. Failure to defend during the prescribed Change of Topic Schedule means that the student must continue his/her previously approved topic.

    2. Projects should be submitted on assigned dates/ time. There will be no extensions on project deadlines. Non-submission of assigned tasks will merit a 0.0 for the task.

    3. Students must present their project content to assigned Content Evaluators for Approval. Only the faculty assigned to a specific kind of project may approve the project content. Content Approval is a pre-requisite to production. No student may proceed to production unless his/her content has been approved as evidenced by Content Approval Sheet.

    4. Only students endorsed by their adviser will be allowed to go through Internal Defense.

    5. Passing the Internal Defense is a pre-requisite to passing MPROJ1.

The grading system for MMPROJ1 is divided into four grades.

    1. Design Document - 10%
    2. Consultation - 20%
    3. Content Evaluation - 20%
    4. Internal Defense Grade - 50%

This course serves as a foundation course for higher multimedia courses such as: graphic design, web design, video editing, and animation.

  • The course aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the theories and methodologies of Human Computer Interaction (HCI). It targets to promote awareness in computer technology and how usability plays a major part in achieving effective implementation of designs and interactivity for multimedia production. Students are encouraged to research the underlying issues involved in HCI. Subject areas include ergonomics, human factors, Graphical User Interface, prototyping, theories and methodologies of human to computer interaction, techniques, design and style, and virtual worlds.
